Celebrate our 25th Anniversary with us!
Milverton Rodeo “Live the Legend”
Rodeo Management Group (RMG) is delighted to announce the Milverton Rodeo as the first stop on the 2015 RAM Rodeo Tour. Milverton is a community located in the Township of Perth East in Perth County, Ontario. A village small in numbers but large in heart, Milverton is situated north of Stratford on Perth Road 131, and northwest of Kitchener-Waterloo. A significant Amish and Mennonite population live near the village, bringing a traditional sense of charm and nostalgia to this community, one nestled in the heartland of Ontario's agricultural bounty. Local roads are shared with horse and buggies and hand-made quilts and wooden furniture can be found in nearby shops which make for an enjoyable shopping experience in the Milverton-Millbank area.
The Milverton Rodeo Committee is busy preparing for the Milverton Rodeo and are thrilled to be organizing the 25th Anniversary Edition – what an incredible milestone! Three local service groups have worked together for two and a half decades to ensure the tradition continues: Milverton Agricultural Society, Milverton Lions Club, and the Optimist Club of Mornington. Because of their combined efforts, numerous community projects have come to fruition: in 2003 the outdoor rodeo ring was constructed (voted best rodeo ring on the RAM circuit for four of the past five seasons) and in 2012 the Milverton Agri Centre (MAC) was completed, a unique building and the first of its kind in Ontario which is definitely the hub of the 20 acre property. These two important additions to the Fairgrounds only enhance the experience for both the visitor and the competitor alike.
In addition to the two RAM Rodeo performances (Saturday & Sunday at 2 p.m.) and the "legendary” Saturday Night Rodeo Dance, featuring artists; Karli June, Trigger Happy and The Walters Twins, there are many exciting additions to the line-up. The weekend activities start Friday at 6 p.m. when the food trucks, refreshment gardens and children’s activities all open in and around the MAC. In the rodeo ring at 7 p.m. the RAM Youth Challenge will commence and new this year Four Paws Flying Entertainment will providing additional thrills for the rodeo ring spectators. At 9 p.m. on the MAC stage, the McEwen Family & Friends will entertain until 10 p.m. when the 25th Anniversary Fireworks will officially kick-off the weekend! Afterwards Jason Gerber will perform until the MAC closes down. Saturday is designated as “Amber Marshall Day” and the star of CBC’s hit TV series Heartland will be a special guest, signing autographs after the Rodeo performance and even co-announcing the show! At 6 p.m. a 25th anniversary celebration dinner will take place in the Banquet Hall at the Perth East Recreation Complex on the south end of the Grounds. On Sunday, Father’s Day, treat Dad and the whole family to a hearty country breakfast which will satisfy everyone’s appetite for good home-cooking, served 8 to 11 a.m. Right after the breakfast winds down, the Food Trucks, Refreshment Gardens and Vendors will all open.
Admission to the Rodeo Grounds is free all weekend and remember to purchase rodeo tickets in advance to save $ 5.00 each. Visit www.milvertonramrodeo.com for all the details!
